Water butt

Another birthday has rolled on this Easter. Amongst my lovely gifts was many many gardening implements and seeds. Non quite as large as my new water butt. Due to restrictions on water pipe locations another move around was needed. The only viable location was down the side of the house close to the front porch.

Composting time

It turned out the water butt wasn't the largest gift for my birthday. I found myself building my very own composting bin. This rotating dual bin style had been on my radar for a while. We always buy our compost but don't get that satisfaction of doing something for yourself. Hopefully in the not to distant future I will be saving some trips to the garden centre and becoming a bit more self sufficient.

Supporting green peas

Supports are in the ground for the left hand bed at the front of the house. Hopefully we will get an ample crop of peas. The location means full sun most of the day.

New beds

We have five raised beds at the front of the house. The soil has been weeded, turned and topped up. Now to choose what to put in.......

Rest, relaxation & inspiration

Time to recharge and celebrate a wedding with my fantastic family, down on the south coast. Last week gave me a week to reorganise in my mind, the layout for our own garden whilst enjoying the sun and sea breeze.

Busy, sunny Sunday

Whilst I started my plan for the garden and removed some of the older tired raised beds. Lucy & Evie were busy planting. 'Ladybird' poppies, mixed sweet peas and yellow alliums which have all been propagated or situated in our outdoor Z-bed.
